Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra

Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra

PCCO History
The original Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra was founded in Judy Moslak’s Music Studio on January 17, 2004 during a Soiree where Judy and piano partner Lana had invited friends to come and accompany them playing music by Bach and Mozart for two, three and four pianos. One of the players mentioned she wanted to “...do this every week” ... on a regular basis. This is what prompted the founding of the Orchard Lake Philharmonic Society. As OLPS became an official 501 (3) (c )organization in 2007, the Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra was absorbed into it. Judy maintained her original projects of playing Baroque music, Piazzolla, giving students the opportunity to play with a live orchestra, etc., while founding and developing the second orchestra (OLPS).
A special chamber orchestra, composed of only five players plus five subs (so the three harpsichords would be heard) called the PCCO X (Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra Express...We come to you!) was formed in November 2010 for the purpose of accompanying the long awaited Triple Harpsichord Concerti Concert. This orchestra was nicknamed the PCCO X since it was the traveling segment of the Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra.

Judy’s Projects
In 2012, the PCCO X made its debut at Bay View. This became an annual event in 2013, 2014 and they are booked for Aug. 22, 2015 at Bay View. These annual concerts produced by Judy offer a variety type program with segments devoted to
Baroque music with harpsichord;
a segment on Piazzolla and
another segment where new works by Michigan composers are premiered.
Eventually, Judy Moslak will produce an
All Brandenburg Concert featuring up to six Brandenburg Concerti; an
all-Piazzolla/latin music concert named Piazzolla Pause, featuring
two-piano playing by Lana and Judy as they did at that historic Soiree on
Jan. 17, 2004; an
all- Michigan Composer program and
Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes given by Madonna University faculty
members have been discussed also.
There is also a possibility of producing
A GRAND Extravaganza! II in the future, similar to the first one produced by Judy Moslak, in cooperation with Tim Hoy at Steinway Piano Gallery in June, 2012. Tomoko Mack, Artistic Director of the Steinway Society, conducted the ensemble composed of 45 pianists rehearsing/performing on 12 Steinway grand pianos.
======================
After working many hours daily to develop and maintain the OLPS for the last 10 years as the Founding President, Judy Moslak is ready to let OLPS take full responsibility for their existence. She feels they are in a good place right now and have the guidance and expertise of Conductor Norm Logan to help them continue their journey to success.
Ms. Moslak is ready to turn her full attention to the first orchestra she founded back in 2004, the Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra, and continue to pursue her original goals and finish her original special projects. She plans to devote all of her energy now to starting up a new corporation which will include some new features in addition to her ongoing projects.

PCCO Soirees
Since that Soiree on January 17, 2004, where the PCCO was named and founded, there have been many gatherings in Judy Moslak’s Music Studio and recently at venues in the Community where the PCCO members voluntarily give students of all ages and varying solo instruments, the opportunity to play concerti with a live orchestra.
To date: 15 students and eight adults (including Pauline Martin) have played concerti by Bach, Haydn, Mozart and Mendelssohn… for solo violin, viola, clarinet, cello and piano with the Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra (PCCO).
Up until July 14, 2012, (when “just” 8-year-old Naomi Yamaguchi, then student of Catherine Rollin, played with us) the youngest was Adam Brzozowski, age 12, playing the Bach Concerto in f minor in preparation for his appearance with the Macomb Symphony at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts .
Another 14-year-old student played a cello concerto in preparation for her appearance with the Warren Symphony. Conductor Dave Daniels and some Warren Symphony members attended and performed at that Soiree.

Teachers who sent piano, clarinet and cello students include Nadine Deleury, Bud Zen Zen, Bibianne Yu, Pam Slomka, Ann Kretzmer, Pauline Martin, Catherine Rollin, Joseph Palazzolo and Judy Moslak.
